I am a big fan of the Big Group. Their projects have a touch of class where everything from the food right down to the decor falls into place. I had lunch with a bunch of friends at Ben's last week when many people were in town to collect their A-level certificates.

The menu here is much more extensive compared to their General Food Store counterpart which serves mainly pizzas. Its a lil' bit country a lil' bit rock and roll. They have the typical fusion selection of pastas, sandwiches, Western and Asian so there should be something for everyone unless you're really fussy and want something exotic like Wagyu. Wait, I think they have that too.

The food we had: Chicken and Mushroom Pie, Curry Stingray, Pomelo Salad, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Portobello Mushroom Burger, Curry Chicken, Chocolate Cake and Lemon Merigue Pie. There were no complaints and everyone seem to be enjoying their food. I kinda wished the mushrooms in my burger were bigger because I thought that portobello mushrooms were supposed to be huge but tastewise it was good.

Something randomly interesting. They have this bunch of card on the table that serves as conversation starters, perfect remedy for those awkward silences during a date or whatever.

I'm planning to go back for another visit with the family. Ben's is sort of like Delicious with a different menu but familiar concept. Pricing is quite decent as most things will fall around the Rm 20 zone. Aspiring restaurateurs should take cue from Ben's. Simple yet elegant.
