Ostrich and Crocodile Farm

This place is in Port Dickson, one of the most beautiful beaches in Malaysia! It was a while back and I headed there with a bunch of friends from church. The day was fun, you know just chillin and not doing much. *headed on to the beach afterwards

The Ostrich
*Sad to say some of the ostriches were pretty badly maintained. Its quite a nice place but some of the ostriches had half their feathers torn off from over-riding.

There were also birds to satisfy the camwhoring needs of the public.

Apparently, this place aint' as fun as Disneyland. The kids did not look really happy. One of the guides actually told us not to look straight into the eyes of the baboon. *I looked at it immediately* It just happens to have really intense eyes. Is it supposed to come after you of smthin?

Now, let me introduce you to something awesome, which requires absolutely no skills at all! Perhaps one of the "funnest" thing to do at the Ostrich/Crocodile Farm.

Coconut Bowling!!!

This game is a total no-brainer. Those smart people who attempted to roll it straight had the coconut roll off path instead! You see the coconut ain't perfectly round as a bowling ball. So it can roll in ANY direction.

*Typically the people there were trying to squeeze out every penny out of us. It was like 5 bucks for 3 throws???

  1. The coconut bowling does sound to be fun. Not only is the coconut not completely round but the fact that the center of it is liquid and not solid might have an effect on it as well. Five dollars for three throws does seem a bit much though. Sad about the ostriches and the loss of feathers.

I truly enjoy reading your blog and only recently realized that you were still in school. I am even more impressed since I learned that. Your photograpy is wonderful and your writing is very well done. Thanks for sharing with the world.

  2. Hmmm, coconut bowling. I think we could do that for free at home! LOL. I always feel sorry for animals at those kinds of places. And, like you, I probably would have immediately looked in the baboon's eyes too! Just being told not to would make me want to. We're so bad!!

  7. Hi Stanley, great pics! Just curious, is it very sunny when you took those pics? They looked rather highly contrast and a bit 'harsh' for the colours... Even my DSLR can't seem to get this kind of effect no matter what I try.

  8. Alice, thanks! Try toggling the colour preset thingy. There you can increase everything from contrast to colour saturation. Hopefully that helped =)
