30 Hour Famine: Part 2

Alright, here's the continuation of yesterday's story......

This is perhaps the most mind torturing activities that we had during the 30-Hour Famine. We had this table with the labels Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. What do we need to do? We had to fill those tables up with our favorite food.

So there we were, salivating while writing down the stuff that we usually eat on those days. Dishes like Pan Mee, Roti Canai, McDonalds popped up immediately on that piece of paper. I was really wishing for some comfort food at that time.

Cho Tai Tee!!! We spent the whole night playing this game. It was a great time to pass time and also get to know new friends. Right next to me was another group of people having an intense game of speed. They were REALLY into the game.

Some people even took the liberty to serenade the crowd with songs that we did not ask to hear. Just kidding! It was nice actually watching a group of people randomly singing.

At this point of time, you actually start reflecting on what it is like without food. The gentle rumble of my stomach quietly begging for food made me think about other people around the globe who were also hungry at that moment.

My hunger will only last for 30 hours and I can famish myself with anything I want after that. But for some other people, the famine continues.

The next morning, we took the bus to the Bukit Jalil Hockey Stadium for the final 4 hour countdown.. There, we met tons of other people who fasted along for the past 25-ish hours. The hunger really sets in during the final 4 hours because we kept thinking about breaking fast!

As I said, it was packed it people (the front half of the stadium). The 4 hours was packed with activities and performances. Some famous Chinese singers and local artists entertained the crowd and got them really hyped up.

Honestly, the performances did not really appeal to be because I am a banana (Chinese who cannot speak Chinese) and the entertainment was mostly Chinese based.

I really admire the fans though! There was a really heavy downpour of rain but they stuck right there in front of the stage with their umbrellas and makeshift raincoats made of platic bags.

After that 4 hours, we broke fast! The organizers (World Vision) provided packets of Coco Crunch cereal and soy milk. You know what? That was the best packet of Coco Crunch that I ever had.
