A Little Piece of Home
Tis' the time of year when those of us living abroad yearn a bit more for the familiarity and comforts of home. But in times like this we surround ourselves with a different sort of family, other friends in a similar sort of predicament. One of my good friends Daryl got a bunch of us together for a cosy Christmas dinner at his place in London. We had the whole works; turkey, stuffing, minced pies, you name it.
I went to high school/college with this bunch of people and most of us are currently strewn all over the UK working towards different dreams. Heading back to the other side of the world is hard to justify considering how short our winter break is and the expensive flight tickets. It is nice seeing them again, many good memories from boarding school.
