L'eto Caffe @ Leicester Square, London
If you were around Leicester Square or Chinatown or Soho (I think that they're all one and the same) in London, walked pass a bakery, and double back to get a second look at the delicious looking cakes on display, it is probably Leto Cafe. Because that was exactly what I did. It's the kind of place where you encounter and make a mental note to visit on a separate occasion.
The space is small and intimate, a few doors away from the Hummingbird Bakery. Took a while but we managed to squeeze in a tiny table. I actually spent quite some time browsing. Making a final choice was no easy feat. I had my eyes fixed on a tart but the honey cake was calling to me seductively from the other end of the display.
We all had the honey cake, tiramisu and raspberry tart. Honey cake stood out the most because of it's originality. Never had anything like it before so it was a pleasant experience. Tiramisu is good but not world rocking. The tart was our least favourite. It looks better than it's taste. Service was brisk and the staff have good knowledge about items on the menu which I found really helpful.
Overall a good experience. Nice place with decent desserts, perfect for after a meal or if you're having cravings for something sweet. Will definitely visit again when I'm down in London.
