Edinburgh
I've been here in Edinburgh for about five days now. The wind is really strong and chilly thanks to the tail end of a hurricane. There's so much stuff to take care of from paying school fees to grocery shopping to introductory lectures that start at nine in the morning, which by the way isn't the best of feelings after being out the whole night. We've all been going out every single night since we got here, having drinks and meeting people all the way till wee hours in the morning. So it sorta feels like a really long party that hasn't quite ended yet.
I feel dead tired. But guess what? I absolutely LOVE it.
The people that I've met so far have been amazing. There's a really nice group going on in the residence I'm staying at and we have a good mix of international and local students. So its been good. I get this surreal feeling every now and then, sitting in lectures or
walking through the meadows. It's that feeling you get when you're
living the dream you've dreamt for such a long time.
We medical students have additional stuff going on this week like introductory lectures and blood tests. Yesterday we had a pub crawl where we all visited pubs around the city in our lab coats. If our future patients every saw what happened that night, they would probably freak out. But it was good fun and loads of stories were made, which will probably be repeated over dinner conversations for the next five years.
More updates when I'm feeling more fresh and less sleep deprived.
