Lorong Selamat Char Koay Teow, Penang

This place needs no introduction, so many people knows about this place. I remember reading about this shop all over the place; blog, newspaper, etc. The char koay teow was definitely good and you'll know why this auntie is so famous.

The prawns were HUGE and you can feel the crunch of lard in every other bite. Noodles used in Penang are a little different from the ones used in KL. They are not as wide and thinner. And the portions are not huge which leaves you wanting more. Talking about huge prawn, so its the bill! Going at around Rm 6 for a plate of noodles, it is on the expensive side. I doubt people eat here for usual meals on daily basis and most customers there look like they are from out of town.

  1. Boycott this CKT! Read today's Star - 23 September 2010. Reader's letter titled "Boycott arrogant hawker". Why pay to be insulted? We Penangites have this saying: "so eow kui-meh?"
