Welcome to the family
Got this lens (AF-S Nikkor 35mm 1.8) at Low Yat Plaza today. Played with it at Berjaya Times Square, the new Nikon Centre. Really cool place where you can try out all the nikon products. HAhaha I think I annoyed the sales guy a little.
See the lens casing display has two glass doors and the guys had the key to one side only. This enables him to be able to slide open half of the cabinet. I wanted to see a lens on the far end of the other side. Lets just say he had to do a little stretching.....lol.
Can't wait to try this new baby out!

35mm on our dx format cameras will be around 50mm on a full frame. So yup, it should be good for portraits and general shooting =)
ReplyDeleteNice stuff. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the 35mm on a DX last time. I had the 35mm f2 though. :D But enjoy it!
ReplyDelete=)
ReplyDeleteDO you still have the f2.0?? I really wanted to get that one but ALL the shops either ran out of stock or dont carry it any more. I wonder if there's a quality difference since both have different number of elements and glass.
ReplyDeleteWaarr....all I can say is...so rich. ;p
ReplyDeleteSave up cash first mah =)
ReplyDeleteim still stuck with my basic lens =P
ReplyDeleteSave up for a 50mm. They go for about Rm300++
ReplyDeletewah, this is the lens i'm trying to get! how much did you get it for? i called the shop in PJ, they say 780 ringgit....
ReplyDeletethe RM300++ 50mm is without autofocus if using D60 or below. D90 can i think
ReplyDeleteYup, yup....true.
ReplyDeleteI got it for RM 820 at Low Yat Plaza. That sounds like a really good bargain.
ReplyDeleteThanks, now I definitely am going to go get it there!
ReplyDeleteyo... nice gear!
ReplyDeletewhere r u now?
i'll be in kl for a while.. interested for a blogger meet up? lol
Thanks man! Hhaha I'm in KTJ Mantin right now. Doing a-levels and hopefully do medicine like you later. =)
ReplyDeleteSure, no problem! Just let me know when, but I'm free only on weekends though. Let me know ok!
heya... heard this lens is pretty good... - curious to know how it is compared with the 50mm. which camera do u use?
ReplyDeletebtw how much did u get it for from low yat? ooh and i saw the berjaya times square nikon outlet... looks pretty neat from outside... i think i'll check it out sometime.
ReplyDeleteI got it for Rm 820. Yup the quality really surprises me, I'm fairly impressed using this lens so far. Very sharp and nice contrast and colours. And I have a 50mm 1.4 too which is equally as good but its a little soft wide open. But having a 1.4 gives you lots of flexibility especially at night.
ReplyDeleteYup do check out the nikon outlet. They let you try ANYTHING you want. Since they dont actually sell anything, you're not pressured to buying anything. So you have the chance to try any lens you like!
ooh din know they're not selling there... cool will check out the place soon... it's great when not being pressured to buy but they let u try out.
