Me and "Famous Amos"

Today I tried my hand in baking some cookies. I've wanted to go out to buy some of my favourite "Famous Amos" cookie but its really expensive and I'm not really willing to spend that much on cookies. So, I decided to make some cookies of my own. I got a recipe off the net. It was really easy to make surprisingly! The only few mistakes which cost me dearly. I did not have all the materials so I kind of improvised :)

At first, I had a pre-made cookie batter that I bought from the supermarket. BUT it was full of worms when I opened it.......(yikes). So I had to used whatever materials I have in my kitchen.

Mistakes
1. I used baking powder instead of baking soda (isit the same thing?!!)
2. I thought the oven temperature in the instruction was in degree celcius. It was in Fahrenheits.....So, I was wondering why my oven does not have the "360 degree" mark. So I put it to maximum, 240 degree celcius. Later when I converted....I found out I was only supposed to use around 150 degree celcius! (thinking about Paris Hilton's simple life now)

So.......

WHAT DID I GET?

Surprisingly, I got REALLY nice tasting cookies! Abit sweet and burnt but nice. Even the whole kitchen smelled like the "Famous Amos" cookie. It even look the part :) There was only 1 catch.....it was hard as rock. My silly mistake with the farenheit/celcius thing made my cookies so hard that when I bit it you can hear the crunching sound loud and clear. Thats why I'm not calling them cookies. Instead, I am calling them my Edible Rocks. Hard as rocks but great in taste. Maybe I can sell them and market them as edible rocks! Who knows? It might just be the next craze.

I made another batch after that too with the leftover dough. I HAVE NOT found out about the temperature thingy yet. But I did bake it in the lower rack of the oven. It came out quite beautifully too. Do let me know what you think after viewing these pictures of my edible rocks!

I guess I'll just leave these sort of things to my mom and the experts like "Famous Amos".
